The early years of your child's life are crucial. It is a time when your child is experiencing rapid growth. Your child will never again develop in so many areas in so short a time. You, as a parent, play a critical role in directing your child's beginnings. The Education Center provides a warm and stimulating environment where children and parents can grow together. Our purpose is to strengthen families and to help young children develop to their full potential.

The program is staffed by friendly, caring people who are licensed early childhood teachers and parent educators, assisted by a trained teaching assistant. We are sponsored by Forest Lake Area School District Community Education and are funded by a combination of state aid, a local ley, and user fees.

We invite you and your family to join us for a special time of fun and learning. For more information call 651-982-8300.

What happens in an ECFE class is as easy as 1, 2, 3!

Sibling Care is available for children who are not enrolled in class. We offer Sibling Care for our daytime classes only. The fee for Sibling Care is $5.00 per hour when you pre-register and the drop-in fee is $7.00 per hour. Please call 651-982-8349 for drop-in availability.

  1. Together Time: Class begins with parent/child activities designed to enhance your child's learning. You will also get ideas for things you can do together at home.
  2. Parent Time: Parents participate in a discussion led by a licensed parent educator. We will explore topics such as child development, discipline, family interaction, and other areas of interest.
  3. Children's Time: While parents are in the discussion group in another room, or in a different part of the room, children are learning through activities designed by a licensed early childhood teacher to help them grow and develop socially, emotionally, cognitively, physically, and in their communication skills.
