Developmental Milestones
It is important to monitor your child's developmental milestones, but also understand that each child is different and may develop skills at slightly different times. Help Me Grow is a helpful website that provides details on the developmental milestones of children up to five-years-old. They also provide videos to show some of the skills and provide additional resources if you have concerns if your child is not developing the way you think they should be.
If you have concerns about the development of your child (birth to five years), there may be services available for your child and family. Help Me Grow is a collaborative effort of agencies serving young children to improve access to special education and other community services. Help Me Grow provides resources for families to understand developmental milestones and learn about signs of concern.

County Resources
Chisago, Anoka, and Washington County Public Health would like to offer you information on the services available to all parents and babies residing in these three counties.
Public Health offices have many programs to offer all mothers and babies at no cost. A nurse can make a visit to you and your baby to weigh and measure the baby, answer questions you may have, and provide information on your concerns related to your recovery from delivery, feeding (including breastfeeding), baby care, nutrition, family planning, infant development, parenting, immunizations, well-baby check-ups, and community resources.
Many Public Health offices also offer the Follow Along Program which is a development tool used to learn about your child’s health and development. Age-specific questionnaires are mailed out that you complete and return to our agencies. The results of the questionnaire will be shared with you providing reassurance regarding your child’s development. This program is free to residents of that county with children 0 - 3 years of age.
If you have a question or would like more information on the programs offered in your county please call the number below.
